Some liniment, pine needle sap and cedar to the aroma. Very fresh in the mouth with a core of liqueur cherry. There's a streak of balsamic volatility but just enough to lift the fruit rather than offend. Florals and earthy tones come to the fore with air. Still very youthful.

Dinner at Browntrout (Browntrout - Chicago, IL): Loved the nose of this wine with its fresh earth and delicate berries. Palate had some sweet oaky notes, but I liked how they integrated with the soft cherry, florals, and mushroom tones. Another example of a strong showing of a 2000 Burgundy, I was impressed with its complexity, freshness, and structure.

Plenty of fruit, and supple on the palate, but the acid was out of balance. A very nervous wine. Nowhere near ready to drink - even after being open 48 hours, it was still tight.
