I haven‘t had this in a few years and it has come around beautifully. Medium ruby color with some clear lightening up and just a touch of bricking towards the rim. Nicely aromatic, with notes of black cherries, also some raspberries, graphite, some sweet spices, there are some violets/flower notes too, as well as some smoke and tobacco leaf. The smoke seems very nicely integrated now. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium tannin and medium-high acidity providing beautiful freshness. Long finish with plenty of aromatic complexity starting to build up. A very nice showing and there is surprising finesse to this.

Darker ruby color, lightening up towards the rim. Notes of black cherries, sweet spices, some floral notes too, graphite minerality and some smoke. It‘s medium-full bodied, with good but not great mid-palate persistence, has medium-high acidity and medium tannin that is silky. Very good length. Maybe this will develop even a little more complexity, but a nice 1er Cru with good freshness and the ability to age some more.

PnP. Muted and soft tannin but perhaps not unexpected. Showing plenty of dark cherry and spice but not as indicative of the terroir as past Regional Damodes.

Bobby Kacher with Bertrand Ambroise and Philipe & Vincent Lecheneaut (Esquin Wine, Seattle): 75% new french oak. 15% whole cluster. Les Damodes plot is pretty close to the Vosne Romanee border and it definitely shows in the wine. gentle with good weight and a bit of vosne spice. quite round but not lacking structure. pepper, red fruits, briary. will improve with more time.

Winemarket 1.0 (Godsbanen, Aarhus): (Slightly disappointing considering price tag of around 500 DKR)
