  • As is often the case with Burgundy, your expectations counts for very little once you pull the cork. This was obviously well stored (in my cellar) and still very fresh, with some wonderful youthful ripe fruit dominating both the nose and the palate, and only hints of tertiary development. In fact even the colour would suggest that this is seven or eight rather than twenty years old. There are the red fruits flavours that you'd expect, but not much of the Vosne aromas I had hoped for. No Asian spice, no decaying meat, but on the other hand a full basket of red fruits and flowers. Drinks rather like a supercharged (and very expensive) Beaujolais. Will keep.
