From a split-bottle bought ex-domaine. Somehow I expected the wine to be in a closed phase being no longer young and also not sufficiently aged, however, fortunately I was wrong. The wine is still very young and upon PNP just hit me with its intensity: gobs of sweet black raspberries and truffles, oh my! In the mouth the wine is fresh, structured and seriously intense. I would say these days you don't often find that degree of extraction, but it works here, nothing unbalanced, just wow as soon as it enters your mouth. This seems like a much a better wine than a Bertagna Clos de la Perriere 2015, which I had in November 2021 (see TN). As complexity is already there, it's no crime to open a bottle now, but this should also age in style.

tasted somewhat oxidized. was a PNP, so perhaps could have used some aeration time? Otherwise, dense complex wine.

Domaine Bertagna Tasting with Eva Reh (Yono's Restaurant, Albany, NY): More muted nose. Really rich, long, and complex. Great potential. Recently went through malo. So intense and extracted. Needs a lot of time. 10 years, I think. 94-95
