  • At the post Barrell Auction party, from a magnum. Had her recent relesae the prior day at the Penner Ash tasting.

Clear burgundy/ruby color. Cherry cola, strawberry compote, dark fruits, pine cone. Nice earthiness to the overall palate, light baking spice on mid palate. Medium bodied and medium finish. Drinking well now, should hold at this level for a while

  • Fairly light with cherry and earth on both the nose and palate. Medium acidity, light tannins. Straightforward Oregon pinot: structured, not too juicy. Drink now or over the next few years.

  • Popped and poured. Archetypal "Burgundy" hue, clear throughout. Black cherry, mild cola & subtle sous bois upon first pour, the polite aromas evolving with air to show hints of sandalwood and clay. Medium body...elegance with structured poise. The fruit veers more towards the dark end but this is really a story being told by spice-laden, herbaceous flavors accented with notes of root vegetables and an impression of minerals. Perfect balance of acidity and tannins, the latter element showing a subtle chalkiness on the moderate close.
While showing notes which might be considered to be more on the mature side, this classy Pinot is youthful overall and will shine in 2-4+ years.

  • - Purple color with medium forming legs. It's somewhat balanced with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish - Very nice and drinkable right now. Enjoyed with some fresh vegetables and a filet mignon. Look forward to next bottle.

  • The wine is a very light ruby red color. The soft and feminine nose has cherries, minerals, damp earth, underbrush, strawberry, baking spices, smoke, and a faint, pleasing herbal note. This has light to medium body, soft, ripe tannins, and very nice acidity. The palate features spicy, earthy, cherries with nice minerality. The finish has very nice length with the cherries carrying the major load and the faint herbal note once again coming into play. This is a lighter body, nuanced style of Pinot, leaning more towards Burgundy than California.
