Pinot supper (Bitton Restaurant, Erskinville): Cherry, almost chocolate, some stalks, cedar, slight earthiness and a touch of alcohol heat prickle. In the mouth more of the same, very clean, alcohol warmth is less intrusive on the palate. Very fine tannins. Polished, exact. Perhaps it has a little anonymity. Nice enough.

Colour: Ruby, clear, medium intensity Nose: medium intensity, developing clean, slight raspberry, menthol, earth, very slight perfume and a touch of pyrazine...slight charred oak Mouth: medium acid, medium plus alcohol, medium minus tannin, body and flavour intensity. More on the nose than on the palate, wine is a little hot in the mouth. Oak spice, medium finish, Dry, slightly burnt fruit, slight bitterness on the finish. Nah
