  • Wow has this changed faces. I initially commented on how this is a nice aperitif wine. Not any more, this is just firing on all cylinders. Serious notes of wash rind cheese and smoke. The nutty flavor on the palate is embraced by a leathery texture that has really only been noticeable in this bottle. If you have any of this left give a bottle a whirl it is in an amazing spot. A- for weirdness!

  • Still one of my favorites, excellent apertif wine. Food pairings are difficult outside cheeses, olives and mushrooms. Definitely brings you back to the glass with saline notes of nuts.

  • The 'lazio' is crisp and clean in the glass with a very pronounced green tone. It also has a tick viscosity. The aroma is of sour apple and a perfume that almost could compete with a camila bush. In the mouth the texture is oily and has a more honeydew melon hint but the acid is still present as is evident by the pools collected under the tongue. A very nice way to be reminded of the vastness of great wines often overlooked.

  • Exotic nose of almonds, fresh herbs, light tobacco and fluoride wash (the strawberry kind). Palate has some banana flavors, and a waxiness consistency to it. The finish is nice and energetic.

  • One of my favorite whites. Bordering on orange wine. Mades by nuns! Very unique. Rosenthal import. $20.
