  • This wine seems to get better year after year. Unfortunately, this is my last bottle from the 2010 vintage. Clear lemon with golden hues, medium intensity. The nose is clean, with medium(+) intensity and medium complexity. The aromas include green fruit (fuji apple, pear), citrus (bitter lemon) and floral (honeysuckle). Both the tropical and grassy aromas of previous years are gone, but the nose is nevertheless rich, welcoming and developing. The palate is dry, with medium(+) acidity and medium(+) minerality. The alcohol is medium and the mouthfeel is smooth. The palate has rounded out with green apple and lemon-lime flavors. The body is medium, the flavor intensity is medium (+) and length is medium (+). The palate seems more balanced than a year ago. To the extent some of the intensity may have faded due to ageing, that has been more than offset by increased smoothness and complexity. This wine is suprisingly age-worthy for an inexpensive white. Drink now or in 2015. It is a great food wine and a great value.

  • Clear lemon with a hint of gold, medium intensity. Good consistency. The nose is clean, with medium(+) intensity and medium(+) complexity. The aromas include tropical fruit (banana), green fruit (fuji apple), citrus (bitter lemon), floral (honeysuckle) and an herbal, grassy component. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, with medium(+) acidity and medium(+) minerality. The alcohol is medium and the mouthfeel is smooth. The palate is quite a bit more tart than the nose, with predominantly green fruit (green apple) and citrus (lemon). The body is medium, the flavor intensity is intense(-) and length are medium(+). The palate is moderately balanced, leaning more towards hardness. This wine is drinking better now than it was 18 months ago, with slight signs of ageing, more than offset by increased smoothness and complexity. A great food wine and a great value.

  • Consistent with previous tasting notes. This is a very food-friendly wine. It paired beautifully with a a goat cheese tarte.
