  • The wine has the insubstantial and peculiar flavour of cabernet franc grown on gravel rather than limestone. Produces a style which is popular in France to drink young and chilled. Pleasant enough but no ageing potential and too flimsy.

Save your money for limestone terroir wines such as Olga's Les Picasses.

  • This wine is drinking well right now but should evolve for the next 5+ years to come. Color: Deep purple Nose: Great nose of rose petals, green peppers, beets, olive, red fruit, and an earthy/ meaty component. The nose is bright and clean (aged in stainless steel). Palate: Not as good as the nose but pulls through with nice acidity and tannin structure. Lacking a bit of complexity and could use some help in the finish. Medium bodied. Worked well with dinner. Grilled steak, roasted beets and potatoes, and braised kale.

This is text book Loire Valley Cab. Franc. Some people may not like this style as it is unoaked and lighter. It reminds me of my trip to the Loire Valley last summer. I love that clean expression of the grape and terroir. This should develop into a better wine with time.
