Dark garnet color, with mild bricking around the edge. Retains more purple color than I would expect for a wine this old. Aromas are reminiscent of an astringent cleaner, like an oxy-pad with a slight whif of dark chocolate. A little alcoholy and funky/vegetal. The texture on the mouth is quite pleasant, with some weight that fills out on the tongue, while remaining light and fresh. Not syrupy on the one extreme, but also not completely lacking in character or grip. A nice balance. Flavor of dark cherries, dark chocolate, and a visit of that herbaceous/vegetal character from before. Overall, this wine is in a good place, ready to drink. More akin to Bordeaux than California. Enjoy!

Powdered chocolate, green celery, and crushed cherries. Drying tannin. Good, but not very interesting. Drink now.

Notes not taken, but enjoyed by all, and a good representation of Northwest Merlot...

Soft and jammy. I think I would prefer it younger.
