Whoops, I just reviewed this incorrectly as the riserva, not the sv wine. Dark fruit, maybe a bunch of Cabernet added because there's more here than anything with mostly Sangiovese. With our pizza tonight, which had strong flavors, it matched up really well. Plenty of life ahead.

Nose of cranberry bread, toasted notes of yeast and tart cherries. Taste of smoke, tobacco, and dried cherries. Soft and resolved tannins. Delicious and delightful. Holds up to pasta, meats and savory food.

Had a bottle with lunch yesterday at Ristoro di Lamole in Chianti. Wow! This traditional Chianti Classico is in its prime. Juicy red fruits, soft tannins, nice acidity, with subtle spices and earthy undertones. Perfectly balanced, particularly when paired with the wonderful Tuscan food we were served. I knew I'd struck gold when one of the owners was reluctant to sell me a bottle to take home after our meal. I can truly say this is the best Chianti Classico I've ever tasted. Don't know where else to buy this, have looked in many shops for past week, but I paid $28 euros at the restaurant.

Beautiful bouquet, but overwhelming tannins. might die down with a few more years.
