blind one of the big suprises of the tasting. All were impressed, including some 100% sangiovese "haters". At his peak. Most of us guessed Bordeaux. 96

Nose of black fruits, cedar, earth. Palate showing dusted old red fruits, leather, balsamic, black olives. Tannins still present, moderate. Medium finish, nice secondary notes through the finish.

Tenderly sweet bouquet of cigar box, strawberry jam, balsamico, perhaps getting a rather generic one of a well aged quality red, but I don't really mind. Sublime and very satisfying, aging gracefully, very balanced, still with a nice tannic structure, moderately ripe fruit with appetizing acidity on the palate. Sweet, spicy, tannic finish, very long. Excellent.
