  Cork was soft and disintegrated during extraction. Wine had to be strained to remove cork bits. Wine & Soul should look into using better quality corks as a 2010 Branco opened several months back suffered the same fate. On the wine itself, I was a little concerned with the cloudy appearance but the wine remained in a good condition. Quite powerful, reflecting a hot vintage and rather high alchohol (14.5% abv) but somewhat two dimensional without depth of flavor or much complexity.

  Esqueçam certa rusticidade dos vinhos do Douro, atribuída ao xisto escuro e que não é defeito é caráter. Aqui temos um vinho que mantém essa intensidade mas ela é absolutamente sofisticada. Aromas de frutas azuis e negras, ameixas. cassis, café e defumados. Na boca é concentrado, poderoso, mas nunca parece pesado e tem taninos e textura sedosa. Equilibrado, com belo meio de boca mineral e amplo final condimentado.
