Nose is mostly oak, with faint pomegranate and tobacco.
Palate is tart; strong acidity, fine-grained tannins, and oak; very little fruit, although some pomegranate is there.
Finish is moderately short and herbal/vegetal.
Overall this is not bad, but very simple; not much to it. Probably would be better with food, especially fatty meats, as it has the acidity to cut through fat.

Opened with appetizers after golf. Otis' buddy wanted a lighter bodied red so popped this. Light garnet color. Only slightly chilled. Flowery with notes of strawberry and fresh bing cherries. Relatively simple but very refreshing. Last had this in the 2000 vintage which I liked better. 86 points

Beaujolais Cru tasting (Wine-Route, Tel-Aviv): medium intensity opaque red-brown
pleasant fruity-earthy nose
soft firm tannins, ripe red fruits flavours, earthy, oak-vanilla, light-medium bodied, lean structured, weak complexity, pleasant fruity-earthy finish and aftertaste
