Totally oxidized : ( Definitely darker than it should have been, based on the cork it seemed like there had been some seepage (wine reaching the top of the cork). The flavors were actually quite nice, if a little on the nutty caramel popcorn side of things, but the wine was totally dead, acidity all gone. Too bad, seems like a better bottle would have been great. C'est la vie.

Amazing. I had my first bottle of this the previous week and that bottle could have sat for a while. This one however was in prime drinking territory. Dark golden straw, butterscotch and a bit of barnyard on the nose. Still very balanced on the tongue with a little heat from the alcohol but the sweet butterscotch persists after the taste. Wonderful example of an aged Chassagne-Montrachet

Classic Chassagne Montrachet! This still has some life...two bottles left in the cellars, will try another in about 2 years. Yet to develop more of the butterscotch and fig falvors you'd expect of a 14 year old Chassagne.

Great initial bouquet of earth (yes!) with expected burgundian citrus and rock...followed by a top-of-the-hill (not much use saving this one) drinking experience. Wait twenty seconds and don't look at a burgundy wine, it will change.
