lots of plums and some tart cherries on the nose and taste and a bit of earth. Hint of cinnamon in the taste as well. Good acidity, nice tannin and a decent finish. Good wine, but I prefer the 2001 to this vintage.

Medium garnet. Plum liqueur and jam nose. Juicy and easy to drink but respectably put together, with a trace of cinnamon providing needed nuance. Good persistence in the mouth but just decent length on the finish.

A dark and concentrated looking red, with a sweet and complex nose of earthy strawberries and with time, leather notes emerge. Quite velvety on the palate, with the classic taste of Tuscan sangiovese black cherries, asphalt and a slight bit of olive tapanade. Held together by integrated tannins vs. acidity. A juicy burst of black fruits and licorice on the finish really puts the entire package together. Should drink well for another 2-4 years, but really is in a good place now. A classic match with chicken parmesan.
