  Very dark red/purple color. Splash decanted for 30 minutes, drank a glass plus at the Ranch over 2 hours. The nose is a bit better than the palate here, but this was quite good overall. Blackberry, anise, plum, and a midicinal note on the nose. The palate brings a tart blackberry compote, cassis, hints of blue fruits, full bodied, a touch of vanilla, anise, and lots round tannins on the full bodied frame. I get some savory notes later as well. Plenty of time.

  This is not your typical Cali cab. Not a fruit bomb. Much more refined. Dark red/burgundy. Dark fruit and graphite on nose. Restrained and complex palate with cherry, dark chocolate and tobacco. Clean and crisp finish of same. Magnificent wine at this time. Should continue to mature but not sure can get much better.

  Really enjoyed this. Solid core of raspberry and blackberry fruit punching through a big wave of tannins and acidity all in balance. far more old world in style than most big napa wines. Good complexity, not over oaked. Just a baby now but drinking well after a long decant with grilled moose. Will be interesting to revisit in time.

  Not a classic, big, Napa cab. More refined in the French style. Probably better with food than many big name Napa cabs.
