  • This wine has not exactly vindicated my hopes. Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Very deep garnet with brickish tints. Nice, meaty nose, with black cherries and cedar. Full-bodied on the palate, with dark, extracted flavors leading. Texture smoothed by bottle age. Finishes well, with cherry flavors, moderate length, low grip, zero tannins. 2009 was a hot year, and this wine shows it somewhat. It's dark, rich, and moderately extracted. Certainly good, but I was more enthusiastic a few years ago.

  • Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Medium ruby color. Nice nose of earthy oak, plums. Lively on the palate, as raspberry and allspice flavors with a few mushroom notes ride bright berry-like acidity. Finishes longer than I expected, as the fruit acids carry things through, opening cranberry and orange peel notes over very low tannins. This is a thoroughly credible bottle of Barbera that invites slurping, while the acid levels encourage me to put a couple of bottles away.

  • Very solid. Enjoyable with home made beef taco dinner...would buy again.

(Vino Noceto Barbera Linsteadt) Dark cherry red color; appealing, tart cherry, red fruit, oak spice nose; tasty, ripe cherry, tart cherry, red berry, raspberry palate; medium-plus finish (probably the best California Barbera I've tasted)
