This pours light garnet, medium bricking with some onion skin at the rim. The nose lifted and fairly complex though not very high intensity. Notes of dried orange peel, pomegranate, red apple, mentholated cigarettes, cardamom seed, and toasted bread. The palate features high acid, which feels somewhat more malic in nature with showing a green apple peel note. The tannins are definitely still present, but somewhat sanded down, medium minus. The finish is clipped a tad by the tartness, but all in all this has held up remarkably well.

From a 375...light rust cranberry color.....very nice leather, cranberry/orange, wet leaves, faint clove spice nose. Hmmmm this looks promising! In the mouth...has a pretty tart acidic kick to it, yet nice plush round fruit feel. Alive and kickin, but a little sharp. Subtle complexities of strawberry patch, leaves, sour plum skin, some Vosne Romanee-like spice.....very surprised! Not the best balanced wine...but tasty and alive! I'm pleased.

No notes. Drank okay, fully mature, nothing special.
