Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • At this point Bjorn threw a mystery wine under our nose and asked a few questions, we were shocked to discover it was the 1952 Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet ‘Clos St Jean’, who’d a thunk such a wine would be utterly delicious after 50+ years (well Francois Audouze would have but few others)? Floral and heady on the nose with notes of menthol, dried flowers and chestnuts. In the mouth it is sweet and vinous with good volume and surprising length. Not just an old wine curio but also a very good drink that all at the table enjoyed immensely.
