The nose exploded through the room with pure blackberry. The entry is very smooth and sweet with, you guessed it, blackberry. Sometimes a wine with this much blackberry is too tart, but this blackberry is dusted with confectionary sugar. Some cocoa peeks in at the end also. The finish is a little one-dimensional but still lasts. This was way better than the last lehmann eight songs I drank a while back, and it was only $15.

This was really great! I've been disappointed by the recent run of ten year old Aussie shiraz and this finally delivered. Really dark in the glass with a bit of light brown at the rim. Still some fresh fruit on the nose with some chocolate and spice as well. Very full on the palate with typical Aussie pepper and chocolate. Excellent - drink or hold a few more years.

Pulled this wine out to go with a fondue dinner (used the drinkability report, thank you very much CT) and wow... as good as I remember it a few years back. LIght but aromatic nose... very smooth, velvety texture. Nice fruit and spices... really a pleasure to drink. Last 2 "good" bottles drank was this Eight Songs and a l'Ecole No.41 Apogee... hard to choose between the two, I'd like another bottle of each without question!
