  • Garrus is a top of the line, relatively new cult rose from Provence, the region in France that is the most famous for its dry roses. With a new owner, the winery set out only in 2006 to produce an expensive $100 wine in quantities limited to a single digit number of barrels, made using Burgundian techniques. The color is an unusually pale salmon. The nose has a geranium smell with hints of honeysuckle, yeast, and vanilla. The texture in the mouth is softened, expansive, and cream edged, which somehow manages to be simultaneously dry and juicy. The swallow brings forward a tingly citrus acidity. The finish lasts 5 minutes, chiefly from a very persistent oily mouth coating. There is little or no tannin, and non-fruit flavors dominate the taste, with just a touch of white peach. The just uncorked bottle began muted and even bland, but greatly improved by the third day. Made mainly from Grenache and Vermentino, with smaller amounts of Tibouren, Cinsault and Syrah.

  • very light rose colour. hint of rose in glass. strawberry with a hint of oily cream in taste and something more than the Les Clans, a little forest or wood? certainly another layer of flavour. Very good! but 2 years old think will start to lose it soon.

  • Full, rich and mindfully insistent. Stellar with Kumamoto oysters and a celebratory end-of-summer caprese salad in the side yard. I wish ii could source more because this will endure wonderfully for another year for certain.
