  • The nearly four years since the last review on her in September 2014, have clearly taken their toll based on this bottle (and no doubt the vintage). Some of the qualities described in previous notes but now some way past its best and blowsy and overripe even with food.

  • Medium gold with green highlights on the rim. In the nose has a typicity of old-stlye white Hermitage. Idiosyncratic, not to the liking of all but a rather good example of its kind. Oxidative appley notes, fino sherry-like, flower honey, blossoms, roasted nuts and some wet wool notes. Complex and interesting aromas. In the mouth the intensity of flavours is high, it is round and acidity is lowish. Full bodied and long. Flavours again of oxidative apple, quince and bergamot. Classic and good, not exceptional though.

  • (Oinofiloi - Rhone Whites). Blend of 90% Marsanne, 10% Roussane. Clear, medium gold colour. Intense clean nose, honey, honeycomb, floral honeysuckle, overipe peaches & pears, rhubarb, yeasty, nutty & even some musty mushrom nose (late harvest?). Smooth fullbodied, creamy mouthfeel balanced by orange peel acidity even some tannins, honey & rhubarb on the midpalate. Great length, intensity of nose matched by that of palate. Wow!
