Brought over by a friend. Apparently bought for $20. Nice wine for that price. Nice nose of classic Burg raspberry and a little barnyard that never really blew off through the evening. Barnyard was not overpowering, and actually gave it a little complexity that this otherwise somewhat one-dimensional wine needs. Raspberries and citrus (lime) on the palate. Nice acidity, but definitely could use more. Good overall balance. Good everyday wine.

Brilliant, clear ruby red color. The nose displays bright red fruit. In the mouth, this red-fruited wine is focused with minerals and some lovely earthiness that speaks of its place. The acidity is lower than most burgundies, giving it a plush mouthfeel. The finish is moderate and fruit-driven. Overall, this has a more Californian profile - ripe fruit, lower acidity, but it has more earthiness and mineral than the average Californian pinot.

This wine still has a very nice pinot nose. I will hold the rest of the bottles from this case and keep tasting over the next several months. I think it will last well beyond the estimated drinking window.

(Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Emotion de Terroirs) Group's #8 (my #5) – 87 pts.; 1, 1, 0, 4 – medium cherry red color; soy, earthy, rosehips nose; tangy lime acid and rosehips entry, rosehips palate; high acidity; medium finish 86+ pts. (consensus guessed it to be the Burg)
(Girardin Vincent Bourgogne Emotion de Terroirs) Medium-plus cherry red. The nose starts quite 2003 in style, but gradually becomes a little more high/toned with violets. Good density and concentration. The tannins retain a little fur, the fruit being diffuse but mainly red. The acidity is just enough. Another impressive 03 bourgogne, even if the last glass seems a little tiring to drink. Poorer value vs the Bouchard, Giroud and Chanson.
