  • Dark red, muddy rim, shows a bit of age.
Sweet earthy fragrance, smooth, clean, violets.
Plums, cassis , raspberry , violets , tar spice , blueberry notes, complex aged shiraz with a much greater leaning towards old Petit Verdot. None of the heavier fruitcake or licorice. Super smooth as age predicts, but fine acidity and soft furry tannins add to the lightness. Drinking beautifully, good intensity and long refined finish.

  • Dark, black red, lighter rim.
Ripe and earthy, black fruits, ink, tar, plums.
Still powerful after all these years, plenty of tannins. Strong black fruits, plummy, inky, blueberry fruits, soft, silky, refined texture. Great length.

  • Very dark with some ruby towards the rim. Not much sign of age.
Highly fragrant blueberry, plum, licorice and violets. Rich in fruit, dark spice, a little leather and blue florals.
Supple, medium weight, with excellent balance and long long flavour persistence. Blueberries, plums and damson fruits backed by gentle licorice and tar spice. Just a hint of earth/leather from old Shiraz, but really dominated by fruit still. Still has good tannins, but very fine and furry. Acidity is good too. Absolutely trademark JH Emily's Shiraz. Magnificently well built wine, at 27yrs feels like it could go another 10 easily.
