Heavy sediment in the bottle. Clear red, with slight browning at the rim. Nose of eucalyptus and plums. On the palate, more plums, some sweet cherry notes, and lots of the "regional Heathcote" musk.

N: Earth, berries, rest tough to parse; Intensity lurking?
P: LM, poss Med, body; Rndish entry with NICE frt fairly quickly met by puckerish tannins, but NEVER losing touch with the frt as it seamlessly transitions into a LONG, balanced finish with a distinct swtness to the dusty tannins. NEEDS another 2-3 yrs, I'm guessing, then easily making its 25th! 13.5% ABV; My EXC/EXC+, with some level of Exceptionality a DISTINCT possibility with a BIT more time! 95 pts Jeremy Oliver, 91 Tanzer, 88 Jamie Goode, & 87 The Wine Front. Dark but crystalline mahogany color, slightly clear at the rim.
High toned and savory nose of underbrush, wild blackberries, camphor and violets.
Savory quality carries through to the palate, which shows cool black fruits (blackberries and dark cherry), a strong mineral streak, and bitter tea.
Finishes a bit tart. Looking at my last tasting note would suggest it is slowly coming down from its apogee but will drink well for a few years still.

Mid and mostly clear Sangria color. Some sediment even in the first pour from the bottle (not decanted) as is typical of this producer.
Wonderful high toned nose of green tobacco, violets and boysenberry.
Surprisingly lithe on the mid weight palate. Ripe raspberries, plum, salt and finishing with pepper.
Fully resolved with a hint that it is starting to crack (the acid is separating a touch).
Lovely wine. Emily's paddock is so consistently and surprisngly different than the big bruiser that is Georgia's.

Friday Tasting Group; LOOKS Unthemed, but... (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Note: On my TNs @ the time I simply wrote "Shiraz/Cab Franc", NOT noticing anything about "Emily's Paddock" if in fact it was on the bottle shared. So, HOPEFULLY this TN is in the right place...
