Double decanted and followed over several days. Slightly foxy aromas are on the very dark fruit spectrum. Concentration on the palate is up front and the finish fades a bit but there are savory tones and spice. The 94 Vesuvio outshined this for me but it wasn't night and day. The wife preferred the profile on this one.

Garnet in color with a glint of ruby on edges. Nose of dark cherries, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Tastes of dark cherries, menthol, dark chocolate, and hint of expresso. Fairly evolved but still primary in tastes. Nice fruit and very enjoyable now. Close to its peak but may positively evolve for 5+ years.

Terroirwijn Vintage Port 1994 tasting and lunch (Villa Augustus, Dordrecht, NL): Very youthful appearance, ruby red, little or no evolution; perfumed and harmonious nose, ripe fruit, hints of eucalyptus and cocoa; medium weight, elegant, very clean and harmonious, juicy, bright acidity, slightly tough tannins; very good length. Good future.

Shortish and not much complexity, floral, decent mouthful. Not that long.
