  Quite dark ruby core, wide rim. Medium intense, quite plummy nose, some red-toned fruit and earthy hints. Medium bodied, more red-toned on the palate, lacks a little intensity, slightly subdued acidity, some fine tannins on the medium length finish. Soft, inoffensive, easy-drinking, but ultimately a little uninspiring.

  This lovely wine has everything I want from a mid-weight burgundy: pinot perfume, fresh with juicy fruit on the palate, harmonious.

  Had last night with mushroom risotto. Nose of strawberry and cherry. A bit of animal and earth as well. The same strawberry and cherry was on the palate. Nice complexity and structure. Fair balance, but lacking a bit of depth. It has the tannins to age a bit longer, and I think another couple of years might do this wine some good. Might fill it out some more. But maybe not. All in all, a nice bottle of wine.
