Medeltegel, mycket genomskinligt. Tunna gardiner (13 procent).

Last bottle from a case bought in 1987. Perfect cork, great color, clean nose. This was a remarkably youthful 38 year old. Medium weight, clean blue Syrah fruit, nice smoke and bacon notes, resolved tannins, balanced., nice texture and persistent finish.

Spinning capsule, good cork. Bricked color. Tertiary nose of olives, campfire, cracked pepper, gravelly soil, strawberries. Fully mature, not much fruit, but pretty, savory, earthy flavors with fine tannins and good length through the finish were a hint of black fruit finally makes an appearance. At first a bit bitter, but smooths out with air and food. Very nice in a savory, mature sort of way.

Greek Unicorn Wines & Friends (Elystan Street, London): We spotted this from afar at the wine list of Elystan Street , London and given the greatness of the vintage we could not bu try. Granted is no La La but still a magnificent wine. Nose of smoky roast meat, spice and herbs. The high point of the wine. The palate is well evolved and as it never had the density of the La Las this is now on the thin side. Healthy and beautiful but better one drinks this sooner than later. 93-94

Short note from De Kersentuin Wijn Club 19-12-22: Tasted alongside the 2009: Incredible aging potential demonstrated: hardly aging signs in color, nose of dark fruit and wet wood, great tobacco and earthy notes with fruit still on the background. Mouthfilling and long. (the 2009 extremely young with enormous power)

(E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde) Medium dark brick red with pale meniscus; bacon, black tea and olive nose; tasty, light-medium bodied, with a palate of bacon, smoked meat, tart red fruit and a touch of liquid pepper, drinking like it's at its peak; medium-plus finish 93+ pts.
