  • This is serious wine. Slightly more linear and precise than the 05 tasted alongside it. Silky and on point, it will be a fabulous wine in 5-10 more years but opening one now is just premature.

  • Complex aromas of freshly grated ginger, red currant, rose petal, flint and smoke. The palate has brilliant definition and oozes minerality. It is a wine that builds and has the peacock’s tale of delicious flavours. Really good.

  • I was fortunate to have a bottle practically identical to Keith Levenberg's, so you can just read his note below, it is spot on! You can get an idea of the light colour from the picture I added of the cork. My first Christiane and it certainly calls for more. I was fortunate to try the 2010 La Tache a while ago and must say my emotional reaction was stronger with the LT an it was even served to me double blind! But there is certainly a familiarity! The Vosne-spices are of the charts in both wines! Would love to have them side by side!

  • Easily the best Christiane since the stunning 2005. As soon as I start decanting this the billowing aromatics let me know this is going to be a treat, as the classic cinnamon-and-clove spice bazaar scents fill the air. The color of the wine is practically translucent so it's like all of this personality is coming out of nowhere. On the palate, the wine is expansive and mouth-filling but not dense; it actually seems almost airy although there is some grit to the structure. Possibly it is a bit coiled and will fatten up in time but maybe what you see is what you get and this will always be gently concentrated despite its breadth. Regardless, there is a lot of flavor here, and the palate and finish are laced with all of those exotic spices that feature so prominently in the aroma, which is a big part of what makes this one of the most enticing Christianes to date.
