Consistent notes. Tannic grip was more evident this time. I did enjoy it but I'll keep my last bottle for a year or two to see if it develops any further.

Crimson red in the center with a burgundy red rim. Not a very expressive nose but I'm getting some forest floor and lavander on retronasal. Flavors are quite floral as well. Sweet and savory on the medium-light palate. Tannins are still grippy as the finish is brief but dry. I'm digging the old world rusticity on this bottle.

This bottle has given me a newfound respect for Ca' Rome's winemaking. Though too much of a middle-weight to rank among the very best of Piedmont in a great vintage, it is a lovely, pure, very well made expression of classic Barbaresco. Tar and roses are perfect descriptors, with the elegance, angularity, and balance that a fine Nebbiolo should have. Still showing as young, it has begun to develop secondary aromas that are more earthy and mineral, with clean sweet fruit, acid and tannin all doing their part to keep the package together.

Savory. Almost no fruit left. Did not dislike it but I am glad it was my last bottle. It is time to drink up.

Solid bottle. Consistent notes. A year went by and this one is more open now. Color is fantastic. Cork came out flawlessly.
