  • Slim on the fruit to the nose, but nice palate and finish. Drink now!

  • Weak fruit but good with pizza. Almost drank the entire bottle in one sitting.

  • This wine has opened up very nicely since I last tasted it in February 2013. It now shows good fruit, with only very slight tannin. It also opened up more after 20 to 30 minutes.

  • Translucent dark ruby color typical of Nebbiolo. Very aromatic and attractive nose of sweet cherry, dried flowers, menthol tobacco, some peppery spice, a little bit of brooding oak, a hint of sweeter, plummy fruit and a whiff of leather. Quite light, acid-driven and moderately tannic palate; however, the mouthfeel is surprisingly smooth and gentle. There are flavors of savory cherry fruit, tart cranberry juice, some smoke, a little peppery spice and a hint of minerality on the palate. With air the wine gains a bit more prominent oak tones. Overall the wine is rather easily approachable with good, but not overtly tight structure. The finish is short-to-medium long with acid-driven flavors of redcurrant, sour cherry and hints of gravelly minerality.

A tasty, balanced and enjoyable everyday Nebbiolo that shows nice varietal characteristics but is nothing special to write home about. A generic little Nebbi that is meant to be drunk young, not to be aged. Not a challenger for Baroli or Barbareschi. Drink within 5-6 years. Priced accordingly at 11,99€.
