A fabulous, vibrant Right Bank Bordeaux that seems much younger than its 19+ years. Floral and herbal notes on the nose with delicious red cherry, raspberry, and plum fruit on the palate accompanied by minty and nutty notes with some clove. Fabulous and an incredible QPR!!

2004 Horizontal Dinner (Tunglok Peking Duck Novena): Deep inky garnet, with browning and fading edges. Very enticing aromas of ripe blackberry, dark florals, mint, and a hint of barnyard. Whilst a little tannic bite, it has largely softened, while acids still lively, and flavours of ripe blackberry, cherry, mint, violets, cocoa, coffee, and then starts showing a little bit of moss, fungals, and forest floor. Medium length. It's in fact lovely because it's at the best window now, but not to be aged much further

So far drinking very good. Classic aged Saint Emillion, has a nice acidity angle. Meaty, stone-minerality, leather, and earth. Strong earthy-iron on the nose and plums. Just opened.

So delicious with the slow-roasted duck, roast chicken and potatoes.

Very tasty. Has lost a bit since its heyday several years ago. But it still is holding up well and has a few years to go.
