Cork was saturated but extracted intact. Wine was brown, think a porter or dark brown ale with similar viscosity. Nose was of honey. The wine tasted of very sweet honey with a creamy mouthfeel. Just a hint of acidity. This would have paired beautifully with a sour cherry tart.

San Francisco MONSTER Offline - 31 Notes, Pictures & Review of the Evening: Sweet hints of green grass and honeycomb. An amazing California dessert which unfortunately is declining. George who brought the bottle said it was awesome in its youth and I can still taste why. Too bad its best days are behind it.

opened the capsule and found a depressed cork with thick motor oil-like wine on top, the wine was sitting at mid-shoulder, when I decanted it sugar crystals filled the filter ... the wine was the color of maple syrup ... it had the familiar nose of the young st jean lhss, patrol ... the taste was wondeful and also familiar ... honey, maple syrup, petrol ... good balance of sugar and acid ... long, hummy, nutty finish

still holding it's own and still has acidity to balance the "sludgy sweetness"

Still hanging on. Very raisiny, good structure and acid still, but fruit getting old. On the way down.
