Very dark brown, to the point where if you looked at it carelessly you'd assume it was a red wine. Extremely sweet and dense--brown sugar, figs, dates, and prunes, followed by an exceptionally long aftertaste, with candied orange peel, ending on a note of blackstrap molasses. Healthy acidity, balancing the sweetness. Still enjoyable, but this wine is clearly in decline, so if you have any of these in your cellar, the sooner you finish them the better.

The last bottle I had several years ago was dark amber in color. Now this wine is the color of tawny port. Succulent and delicious, it was wonderful with flourless chocolate cake and chocolate covered strawberries.

Fairly dark color. Very dense. Quite sweet, but in a good way. This was quite a treat!
