Very pleasantly surprising. Dark and rich with a huge Sangiovese spice component integrating the Cab Sauv & Merlot (mint, eucalyptus and vanilla). I estimate this wine to be at its peak right now and don't expect it will get much better, so I'd drink it sooner rather than later.

First one of these in five and a half years. Still a rather youthful-looking, semi-translucent garnet in color - lightening a bit right at the edge. Beautiful and complex on the nose, offering alluring scents of violets, crushed dark berries and a hit of vanilla. Full-bodied, but very elegant in style and weight. So silky in texture. Still offers plenty of raspberry, plum and cherry fruit on the palate, with excellent depth and focus. Superbly balanced with just the right amount of acidity to make it lively and energetic. The long, graceful finish features plenty of fruit and fully integrated tannins that linger gently. So refined and delicious. Still has a few more good years ahead of it. A Tuscan gem from an overlooked vintage. 50+5+13+17+8=93

Similar notes to the bottle I had last year. This bottle seemed quite a bit more developed though. I think I might have enjoyed the fresher and brighter bottle last year. Very good wine for the price. I dont see a point in cellaring this anymore. Good to go now.
