Deep crimson, slight reduction on the first nose followed by cherry, violets, blueberry and hints of earth, pure pinot fruit on the attack but followed by some green streaks, tart berry fruit and drying tannins, finish is surprisingly long with scorched earth, cherry, strong mineral streaks and sour raspberry

Medium-dark rosewood color. Sweet, opulent nose of mulberries, Twizzlers, some tart unripe blueberry aromas, potpourri, and the faintest whiff of anise. The palate starts in similarly luscious fashion before entering the midpalate grip of Bressandes' limestone and clay soils. Throughout, this remains smoothly textured. There is an interminable finish, with the acids and minerality starting to integrate harmoniously. Clearly tête de cuvée among the Beaune 1er crus, the inherent full-bodied character of this site (given the exposure) is balanced against the austerity of this vintage to excellent effect. Starting to show its stuff now, I'd anticipate another 8-10 years of enjoyment from this wine.

A gorgeous dark jewel of a wine, stoney and mineralic with bitter cocoa and wisps of smoke complementing the dark cherry fruit. Very good depth and density on the midpalate, a refined and persistent finish. A bit tightly wound, but no regrets for taking an early peek.
