2 bottles drank contemplatively without food over a long evening. Served in a large white wine glass. Very moderate mousse and few beads but of impressively tiny pinprick bubbles. Deep straw-gold colour looking quite mature. Nose of hay barns and nicely lifted, fresh-crushed Oyster shell. Palate is fresh acidity followed by burnished copper and very lightly toasted barley. Juniper berries. Quite rich and deep-bodied. Vinious almost flat but more minerality and verve emerges with more time in the glass. Definitely mature. Quite heady on the finish in terms of depth, resonance and with some length. Magisterial but not majestic. It only got better and better… a refinement and elegance crept in that smashed it after 2 hours. 92+

Gourmetklubbens fyrtioåttonde middag (Tema: Dekadens) (A+N, Duvbo): (From magnum, disgorged in 2007) Deep yellow colour with a stream of fine bubbles also showing a wonderful nose with roasted coffee, butter and grapefruit notes in a delicious maturing way. Dried fruit and with a refreshing grapefruit citrus acidity on the palate. Opens up on the lengthy finish with a refreshing zesty bitterness and some fruitiness as well. This is still showing a nice intensity on the palate and of course focused on citrus acidity from the vintage. (Best 2011-2031)

Really good with nice citrus acidity and a complex bouquet on a base of bread/brioche and nougats. Long taste. Needs pairing with food. Like it!
