  • Golden straw color, rather light for an auslese of this intensity. Spicy, grilled pineapple, jolly rancher, baked peach on the nose. Definitely some botrytis showing here. Heavy, unctuous, complexly spicy palate. Vibrant lime, apple juice concentrate, honey, hint of petrol. Finishes with a little green herb, good acidity, lots of R.S., 7.5% alc., woefully underpriced at $25. Outstanding.

  • On the nose, I was huffing the gasoline notes to find peaches, chamomile, and a hint of parley or celery underneath. On the palate, the acid and sweetness balanced beautifully, with honey, peach, lime zest, nectarine and peat, with just a trace of the powerful petrol fumes.
