  • Wow I was not sure how this wine would dr8nk but we had a lamb leg bbq and I only gave it 30-40 min to decant and wow the bang of fruit bomb hit me the nose has dark ripe red plum fruits the palate is sweet ripe fruit with balanced tannins great length and I think Better than 2008 as it was so hot this vintage was cooler and the fruit had a better ripening time I only have 1more bottle so I won’t be selling it.....just drink to COVIDSafe and our release ..sorry in oz and we are are freeeee, yeah

  • Still very powerful and probably still good in another couple of years. Still has edges and is somewhat astringent and velvety.

  • A deep dark ruby colour. A dry and partly nondescript aroma, some old oak, a hint of spice and slightly hot. A distinct lack of fruit in the taste, tannin is dry and gritty but not in a negative way. Acidity is well balanced but without the fruit it becomes very hollow. I think i must have missed it by a year or two. I had a 2010 the other night and it was good. The 09 has just lost it.

  • A deep claret appearance. Nose somewhat closed however, black fruit, light vanilla and jammy notes. Conversely, the tastes were clear such as blackcurrant, blackcurrant jam, tropical fruits, mango, warm spice. Full well balanced, lush and big on the fruit. Very enjoyable.

  • Screwcap. Decanted for an hour and removed a fair bit of sediment. Wine otherwise was clear but dark purple with only the slightest signs of aging.
    Initial nose was of stewed strawberries, some cigar box and vanilla and dark chocolate. After time in the decanter and swirling, came more darker fruits like blackcurrants with menthol and eucalyptus, a bit like a packet of blackcurrant soothers lozenges.
    The taste didn't change much over the course of 2 hours and had some mostly resolved fine tannins but with some alcohol heat and definite American oak.
    Finish was medium plus length and I kind of wished I had this with some lamb chops or a juicy steak instead of having it on its own as it was a bit monodimensional. Wasn't too bad but nothing special. I think it is at its drinking peak and can hold for a few more years but not getting any better.
