This wine is in an excellent spot right now but can go on for some time. Lemon-lime on the nose. Good balance, nice acidity, almost no evidence of oak. It is just starting to show some honeyed notes.

This bottle seemed tired. I was hoping my previous bottle was just an anomaly, but this was only just a bit better. May have to keep an eye on these and drink sooner than later.

Last bottle from a bacth bought at release, had with cheeses pre dinner. Slightly chilled, PnP, drank over an hour.
Prior notes: "Medium/light straw color. Nose is white flowers, apples. Palate pears, apple, oak, citrus. Acidity is strong, a little out of balance for my palate. may settle down in time."
Picked up lemon zest , green apple and meringue with this bottle. Still nice but has moved past its prime. Drink up...

This Chardonnay was very good once - but not anymore. Light yellow in color, medium in body, nose of lemon meringue and brioche. Tastes of green apple and orange peel, with an oily and honeyed finish. 13.1% alcohol. I'm a huge fan of Varner, but this wine hit its prime a few years ago and is on its descent into old age. (For the record, Parker said this would be good until 2019, Galloni until 2021 - and both were quite wrong.) Drink now.

Absolutely fantastic. Has gotten better. What a shame they lost their lease on this plot.
