50% Malbec, 50% Tempranillo from Valle de Uco at 1,100 m. Manual harvest. Fermentation in stainless steel vats. Aged 3 months in French oak barrels. 14.5% Abv. Winery: Bodega O. Fournier
A(ccuray)=2: Med deep garnet/amber rim. Ripe, warm, enticing. B(alance)=3: Fine matured fruit with acid backbone and resolved tannin. C(omplexity)=2: Dark and red berries, spices, mint, chocolate. D(epth)=1: Supple mouthfeel. Average length and finish.
Wine Tally Score [2,3,2,1] = 8/10
Bargain on release but not so appealing. Stashed away and patience rewarded! One can literally sense the acidity of the Tempranillo counteracting the harsher Malbec tannin.

When we bought this wine, it was a QPR play only. Hated the first few; let them sleep. Few years ago improved but showed surprising age potential. All I can say now is "wow." Drink 'em up now if any left. Simply fantastic. Think structured Pinot or higher end Gamay. This is a very nice fresh wine still, with clear traces of Tempranillo, yet its own special thing. Last two bottles going soon!

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark ruby color. Cherries, strawberry and a little heat on the nose. On the palate, cherries and spice, longer finish, a little oak. Not the most nuanced or complex of wines, but a wonderfully hedonistic wine at $12. Very enjoyable for what it is. 88+ points. Aloha!

What a deal from K&L! This is very juicy and fruity with black pepper giving it a nice old world streak.
