Starter wine with Thanksgiving dinner. Nice petrol bouquet and silky mouth feel. Long tropical fruits slight buttery finish that ends with a mineral note. Paired nicely with butternut squash soup, and a green salad topped with goat cheese and walnuts.

Needed a couple hours of air to come together. Light gold color, medium legs. Medium to profound bouquet of baked lemon meringue, almond, butterscotch, sea shell, fried plantain. Very even palate displaying that buttery side of California while leveling it with a fresh stone and acidic structure. On the finish, the oak tails out before the fruit, which is nice. 4+11+17+8 = 90

Tasted at Family Winemaker trade tasting in Pasadena. This is in rather stark contrast to the fleshier, flashier '09, but I get what Jeff Pisoni is doing here - letting the vintage/fruit speak for itself (read: NOT creating a style) - and I like it. Equal parts Chablis and 1er, with very fresh citrus and orchard fruits flecked with brown spice and crushed rocks. A feminine build, this will be an early drinker, but one you really don't want to miss. The perfect wine (from a brand new AVA) to enjoy while your more age-worthy whites are silently sleeping. recommended. drink thru 2015, score: A-

consistent with 11/13 note. Tastes a little heavier on oak now, but the overall harmony is still intact.
