A decent Tuesday night wine. It is almost balanced, but not quite as it has a big mid-palate. The fruit still has some youthfulness, which shows up as ripe black fruit. Cedar, baking spices and lingering fruit dominate the mid-palate. The transition to the finish is good, just a little off, while the finish itself is OK with no off-putting flavors.

Popped and poured off a taste around 1pm to follow through dinner. Notes 7 hours later. Dusty ruby color, slight brick in the hue, about 80% opaque with clear legs and no sediment. Profound aromas of currant, lavender, blueberry, and nicely-integrated oak. Fully resolved tannins and a pleasing texture with a very long finish. Perfect for tonight’s NY strips and I’m glad I checked in on this because it let me know that my magnum will be drinking well for several more years. 5+12+17+8 = 92

This is drinking very nicely now. The tannins are very well integrated and I found it to be very smooth. It paired nicely with a pot roast cooked in a pressure cooker. I don't think there's any rush to drink this up, but I may not wait too long before opening my other bottle.

Purchased this from Dave at Fort Mason tasting event a couple years ago. What a great surprise - gave it a quick double decant before taking to dinner. Nice blend of blue and red fruit (ripe blackberry, cherry, strawberry), very typical napa cab palate with typical light secondary notes (leather, tobacco, pencil). Showed great fruit with a medium body, no alcohol on the nose or palate, great finish. Really great wine - palate-wise the complete package. Drank light but packed punch.

Decanted two hours. Nose of are some nice black fruits along with anise, some vanilla, and spice. On the palate, rich, full, and silky with blackberry, blueberry, currants, vanilla, spicy oak. Finishes very long with nice acidity and substanital tannic grip. A little bit of heat in the finish but overall a great package. Could use a couple more years on its side.
