Very dark blood red color with a hint of transparency. Very open and ample nose with some jammy, sun-burnt fruits, but more on the dark berry- than the dark fruit side, revealing aromas of Cabernet-ish blackcurrant, ripe blueberries, blackberries and some cranberries. Sweet, toasted oak spice with a hint of chocolate. On the palate some overripe dark fruits, bordering on the jam - you can really taste the heat of Cádiz. Fruitiness is dark, sweet and concentrated, bringing in flavors of blueberries, figs, prunes and blackberries. The oak comes initially through as vanilla sweetness, but begins to shift into more bitter woody notes. Rather soft mouthfeel with quite little acidity. Tannins don't relly bite through the concentrated palate, but afterwards you can really feel your mouth drying up. Mid-length finish with some sweet fruit notes of figs and prunes, and overall bitter woodiness.
Quite easy, supple and enjoyable everyday wine for BBQ and such; works quite well even on its own. Not really a bulls-eye for me, because of my tendency to favor more acidic and more structured wines, but this one easily wins those boring, Chilean / Australian overripe fruit bombs from the same price range. Maybe not the best buy at 13,50€, but still I'd say it's more or less worth the buck.

Very deep and intensive taste of berry. Round, but heavy. Liked it very much, as did everybody else on the table.
