Decanted for four hours. Medium body. Aroma of blackberry and cedar. Palate begins with wet rocks, anise and oregano, then some drying tannin but not overbearing at all, along with fruit acidity. In a good spot now, doubtful will develop more. More enjoyable than I anticipated, given the tough vintage.

Drank over two days. Subdued nose of black fruit and leather. Palate much the same, although the acidity was lively on day-1 and toned down a bit on day two. Tannins settled in.

Decanted over three days. Medium body. Nose restrained the first day and palate was overwhelmed by acidity and tannin. Settled in a bit over the next two days, but overall, I think that bottle I had was simply not ready. Some dark fruit under the hood, but will take few years yet to shine.

Lush, dense, ripe fruits, espresso bean, smoke and black cherry jam aromas lead to a smooth, soft, plush, early drinking wine of pleasure.

GJE CRD 2008 and EP 2011; 3/29/2012-4/4/2012 (Bordeaux, France): Very similar to the 10 but perhaps a bit fresher in fruit expression and slightly less concentrated. Crushed blackberries, crème de cassis and milk chocolate. Silky palate.
