  • Root day - pours gold from the bottle. Nose of overripe mango and guava along with bruised apple and overripe pineapple - definitely on the down side of maturity. On the palate the ripe to over ripe fruit hits first along with some nice acidity, but then the fruit hits again. The acidity saves it but this is well past it’s due date for most. I’m enjoying it due to the freshness of the acid and I’m okay with the over ripe fruit. Long finish with the acid cleansing the back palate.

Just read Chateau de Farmer note from Jan of this year. It’s spot on although I didn’t get the oxidized honey on the finish they did thank goodness!

Two hours later, this is showing classic Pouilly Fume character - flint, minerality, smoke character, herbs and light fruit. Now it’s delicious! If I was rating it now it’s close to a 90 pointer. Lesson - if you’re drinking this now (and I do suggest you do - it won’t last much longer - mine was purchased on release and kept well) give it some air and enjoy. There’s quite a few in Cellartracker cellars - drink this year.

  • Extremely interesting but on the hard decline. Should have been consumed several years ago. Nose of guava, mango, green jackfruit. Some acidity left which is holding it together. Similar flavors on the taste, plus a traditional flint minerality and green herbality. However, the finish showed some unpleasant oxidized honey.

  • This is now getting more pungent- sweaty perhaps- but more graceful, oily, green characteristics come to mind. Reasonably weighty. I think it would be risking it to keep bottles of this much longer.

  • Lots of tropical fruits. Lovely balance. Tested in a blind tasting against a pouilly-fume le cave Augustine 2013 and kicked the crap out of it. Lovely wine.

  • I like this style. Gently herbal yet not especially expressive nose. slight sweatiness but not off-putting. Refined and dry. Medium weight without any coarseness on the palate.
