IPO: Beautiful nose. Smoky and floral. A nice mix of dark and red fruits (fraise des bois). Delivers much more than its appellation. With air, it seems like the wood shows a little more. May need an additional year to fully integrate.

Opened one hour in advance. Wet earth, cherry aroma. Pleasant cherry and leather flavors. Medium finish. Good, basic pinot noir. Good backbone, pleasant flavors, simple, not much depth.

Showing a light-to-medium ruby robe, this wine follows with a moderately intense nose of dried cherries, cranberries, tobacco and black tea. It is light-bodied and fresh on the palate, with light dusty tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 12.5%). The flavors are in line with the nose, but these same flavors seem to drop off in the middle palate before they are resurrected in a medium-length, dry finish. This is certainly not a bad wine for the price, and would be a good mid-week wine with lightly-seasoned pork or fowl. Drink now-12/15.

Bright, lean and long. Notes of cherries. Very drinkable. Good entry level Burg. (L49 @ Angelus).

Pleasant, but a bit simple and overrated. A bit disappointing given that we really like the Bruno Colin whites.
