  • 91-92 Cru Classé Sauternes to continue the festivities. Deep golden apple skin colour. Great vintage for Sauternes, poor for reds 🇫🇷
N: Beguiling balance between candied apricots and tinned peach syrup with tertiary white mushroom and wool.

P: Unctuous tinned tangerine segments, thick cut bitter orange rind marmalade and ripe nectarines flesh, as expected. Very spicy, orange blossom, cardamom pod savoury edge creeping through. Med- acid but enough underlying tart tension.

F: Dried orange, raw white mushroom.

  • Very good without being great - nice orange marmalade overtones and balancing acidity. One of the best value wines I have ever bought - £10 from M&S fine wine clear out for 75cl bottles - what's not to like!!

  • Light, bright and not too tight, this early drinking, sweet, white, Bordeaux wine offers a bright, sweet, crisp profile of honeyed pineapples, apricot, vanilla and sweet, candied, oranges. This is a good sweet wine to serve as an aperitif, or as a meal accompaniment, due to its fresh, acidic profile, and lack of density.

  • Pale straw color, faint golden tinge. Modest honeyed botrytis nose above apricot peach bouquet with mineral, white flowers, linseed, lime, pineapple, citrus marmalade, crème brûlée notes. Medium weight, moderately intense & deep, fresh & lively stone & citrus fruits well-supported by & in good harmony with excellent fresh acidity; vibrant & quite elegant. Long linegering finish.

  • This has balanced out nicely already. Certainly primary but without any predominant oak, the nose is exotic with pineable, flambee banana, coconut and brown sugar. Palate is quite balanced with golden ripe fruit, peach, abricot, lacking a bit of minerality and acidity to counter the sweetness, moving it towards slight heavyness, especially as it warms up in the glass. Not a complex Sauternes but a pretty one with all the typical traits. Nice
