Medium gold core. Slightly volatile nose (nail polish), showing plenty of tropical fruit (banana, pineapple) underneath. Decidedly sweet -- almost cloyingly so. Still, the acidity appears balanced overall. While I detected some disturbingly confected notes upon opening (Juicy Fruit? coconut extract?), these largely subsided after several minutes of air. There is also an interesting note of sweet cantaloupe that I don't normally associate with Sauternes. What is missing (at least for my taste) are the deeper notes of apricot and saffron I love so much in these wines. Granted, this is still very young, though I'm not sure it will evolve much more with additional time. Overall, I see no downside in keeping this for another decade or so to see if it will improve. Given the amount of sugar, it it unlikely to go bad. Hold (and pray).

Inexpensive and over performing. Really excellent concentration for the price.
